With the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the transportation volume of cargo among Hong Kong, the western Pearl River Delta, Guangdong and Guangxi Province is expected to be increased.
Hong Kong is a free port where import and export goods are exempted from customs tariffs. The manufacturers in mainland China often import electronic parts, semi-manufactured electronic products, small- and medium-sized machineries and raw materials from different suppliers in overseas countries. These foreign goods are delivered first to Hong Kong by air or by sea before distributing or transferring to the buyers in different locations in mainland China.
At present, the customers can use our Air Transportation Service to transport the goods (e.g. electronic components, raw materials etc.) from ASEAN countries via Hong Kong to mainland China. Hankyu Hanshin Express (HK) Ltd. is currently offering daily flight services from Singapore, Malaysia and Shanghai, China to Hong Kong. Upon completion of the arrival and customs clearance procedures in Hong Kong, the goods will be delivered to the buyers in mainland China by our Land Transportation Service. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge shortens the travelling time from the Hong Kong International Airport to Zhuhai. Without the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, trucks will have to travel using Zhongshan Humens Bridge to Zhuhai. The travelling distance on this bridge is 214.8km while the travelling distance on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is only 55km. With the improved connectivity due to shorter distance via new road routes, the transportation time and cost for delivery of goods from overseas to the western Pearl River Delta can be reduced.
