Opening of New Durban Branch and Warehouse to Strengthen Logistics in South Africa
INTRASPEED SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD., the South African subsidiary of Hankyu Hanshin Express, relocated its Durban branch and warehouse in southeastern South Africa on May 14th and commenced operations in June.
Following the establishment of our second Johannesburg Warehouse and second Nairobi Warehouse in August 2024, we have established a strong business foundation in the African market, with a focus on our logistics business.
Previously, the Durban branch had outsourced its warehousing operations. However, in response to increasing demand for warehousing and to strengthen its competitiveness, the branch relocated to a facility that combines office and warehouse functions.
The industrial park where the warehouse is located is situated 15 km north of downtown Durban, offering good accessibility.
Additionally, in anticipation of risks such as theft and flooding, we have implemented various measures including 24-hour CCTV, electric fences, the deployment of full-time security guards, and the strategic location of warehouses on high ground.
The warehouse is already being utilized by a wide range of customers, mainly in the automotive industry. In addition to inventory management, it also handles various ancillary tasks.
In the future, the facility will feature a bonded area and function as a Container Freight Station (CFS) for consolidated sea imports from Japan and other countries, to meet a wide range of customer needs.
Hankyu Hanshin Express remains committed to delivering high-quality, reliable logistics solutions through its global network, tailored to meet the diverse needs of its customers.
